The long and so far unsuccessful search for Kyron Horman is scheduled for a review this week in Portland.

The missing Oregon boy disappeared from his elementary school last June and a massive investigation has not turned up any sightings or led to any suspects.

Multnomah County Sheriff Don Staton will update Multnomah County commissioners on the status of the search at a county board meeting on Thursday.

Almost a year later, Kaine Horman, Kyron’s dad continues to try to keep his son’s face and name in the public eye.

Saturday, he spent the day at the Portland Expo Center, in North Portland handing out fliers, buttons, key chains, dog tags, and t-shirts with Kyron’s picture.

“A lot of people are coming through and picking stuff up and taking it with them, so we’re accomplishing the mission of the weekend,” said Kaine.

Across town in Northeast Portland, Shaquita Louis is on a similar mission. Her 14-year-old daughter, Yashanee Vaughn, was last seen on March 19. Louis spent her day with friends and family at Holladay Park, near the Lloyd Center mall. She passed out fliers and talked to people passing by.
