“Trail Blazers” смогла победить лучшую команду в Western Conference.

Речь идет о команде Los Angeles “Lakers”.

LOS ANGELES (NBA.com exclusive) — The Blazers may have done the Lakers a favor come playoff time.

In what was a bizarre final minute, the Blazers managed to eke out a 91-88 victory despite being without Brandon Roy in the second half.

The win puts the Blazers in a better position to avoid the top-seeded Lakers in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

But with the way the Blazers are playing against the defending champs, they certainly wont shy away if they do end up facing them.

“It’s big for us,” said LaMarcus Aldridge, who had a game-high 24 points and 11 rebounds, of the victory. “It’s giving us more confidence if we do face them. This will be big for us on the road. We always feel like if they come to our house it’ll be a really good game, but now (with this win), it makes our confidence grow even more.”

The Blazers (49-31) have proven they can beat the Lakers.

With the Blazers up 88-87 and 12.7 seconds left, Martell Webster intentionally fouled Kobe Bryant thinking that McMillan wanted a foul. He didn’t.

“(Martell) didn’t think he was going to be in the game,” McMillan said. “So he didn’t hear me give the instructions on what we wanted to do if Kobe had the ball…again, weird situation.”

Bryant, who is an 81.4 percent free throw shooter and arguably the game’s most clutch player today, short-armed both his attempts. Pau Gasol, however, wrested away the rebound and found Derek Fisher, who drew a foul on Andre Miller.

Fisher, an 85.7 percent free throw shooter, managed to only split his pair, tying the game at 88-88 with 4.7 seconds left.

On the ensuing possession, Webster fired a running 3-point shot off one leg and was fouled by Fisher.

Webster, who finished with 16 points off the bench, sank all three free throws.
