We are now focusing on indoor skills – targeting with nose and paw.

Monday

First you demonstrated the progress you had made over the weekend – fantastic!!! Yepa is really getting the idea of targeting and is touching with much more enthusiasm. She was able to nose target several items, including the stick, a pen and a ball, both in hand and on the floor.

I worked with her on paw targeting with a yellow cloth on the floor, and the red cutting board. She is reluctant to touch objects with her feet and this progressed slowly.

Yepa made progress in this session with moving from touches to licks and mouthing of the stick. These are all preliminary to taking an object in her mouth and holding it

Tuesday

We tried again with paw targeting, this time with a yellow envelope, Yepa is thinking about it all but hasn’t quite got it yet. This is challenging for her and will take time and practice.

We played with the tennis ball at your suggestion – a good idea and Yepa ounce don the ball and brought it a couple of times then lost interest.
